In this day and age, with great leaps and bounds in medical, technological and scientific breakthroughs and advancements, why does it seem like humanity is regressing and not progressing. It feels like we are on the brink of destruction, without assuming responsibility for where we are and how we got here. I believe our problems are the sum total of our thought processes, speech and action spanning many generations that has caused our true identity and value, which is found only in God, to become congealed.

If humanity was made in the image and likeness of God, then our purpose and value can only be found and defined by and in Him. Any other identity is assumed and lacks genuinity and can only lead to destruction. Broad is the road that leads to destruction; narrow is the way to life, and few find it. The narrow way is the way of truth. If only a few find it, then a majority of humanity; past, present and future, has walked, is walking or will walk the path of destruction.

I have seen too many believers reject the possibility that God has given His nature and identity to them, because they believe they are not good enough to be that good. If God could value us, while we were sinners, enough to die for us, how much more should He love us now that we are saved and doing our best to live a Godly life? He knew we could never match up to His level of righteousness. Let’s be real: the first man and woman were perfect and glorious, and they still fell short of the glory of God. So now God gave us His righteous nature, His name, power and authority to exercise in creation as His offspring. Despite our flaws and imperfections, we have been perfected in Christ and the hardest task that God has given us is to accept the identity God has given to us in Christ.

I have written a book on Identity at a very basic, foundational level. Go check it out.
