You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. (1 John 4:4 – NKJV).
I know how we interpret this scripture in 1 John 4:4, but I want to put a different spin on it. Your soul is greater than your body, because it is from your soul that the life of God flows, and I believe when something goes wrong with the soul, that is how the body shuts down and dies.
The soul is directly connected to God and contains all that God is, though in seed form. The soul is perfect, righteous, holy and extremely powerful, and is also immortal.
The desires of the body can hinder the flow of the soul. When we harbour emotional wounds, such as unforgiveness, offence, lust, pride, etc, it becomes something negative in the body. There are people who believe strongly that unforgiveness is tied to cancer, though there is no explanation then, if this is true, why innocent children are born with cancer. It does make sense though that in a body, where a holy, god-like soul lives, unrighteousness will produce a negative effect, not on the soul, but in the body.
So, God’s commands not to indulge in certain things is not to deny us pleasure, but to stop us from hindering our greatness because you were created to be great.
In my studies, I have concluded that we may be living in the age of the ungodly, because Gentiles have a natural propensity towards ungodliness and atheism…and the ungodly are ruling the world, but there is coming a shift, and the age of the righteous will begin, and we are being prepared for that.
You were created to be great, and you need to overcome the fear and reservations that come with accepting this reality.
